It is amazing how geologic forces create minerals and crystals that come together to create gems, colors, and textures beyond our imagination. As a lapidary artist, I love to artistically reshape stones and crystals to accentuate their beauty, rarity, and unique properties.

My jewelry is always focused on the stone and I love incorporating natural, untreated, high quality and rare stones that I have cut myself into my jewelry designs. Combined with the rich colors of real silver and gold, I like to hand craft one-of-a-kind jewelry creations that will become special keepsakes that you can enjoy for life.

Mokume Gane Pendant with Garnet.
A new jewelry design for me, I hand forged and patterned this mixed metal pendant of copper and brass. This ancient Japanese sword technique involves fusing 21 layers of alternating metals and hammering patterns to create unique patterns in metal. A very lengthy and involved process rewards us with unique patterns and colors in metal. I cut the spessartite garnet from a crystal from Kenya. It has a nice burnt orange hue that complements the metal colors beautifully. Hinged construction allows the pendant to swing freely and includes an 18” sterling silver chain. 2”L x ½ “ W

Copper in Quartz Ring.
I got lucky and found this rare seam of elemental copper in a specimen of quartz with blue Chrysocolla imbedded next to the copper seam. Elemental (pure) copper is rarely found in nature particularly with such a large seam. This specimen comes from Indonesia and is set in fine silver with a hand hammered and textured ring band with selective polishing to accentuate the texture. Size 6 ¾

Opalized Petrified Wood Earrings 4. This really cool material comes from Indonesia and I cut these unique shapes with a bookend cut technique so the earrings are mirror images of each other. I cut these matching mirror imaged petrified coral stones from a find in Indonesia. The coral polyps are cut in cross-section to showcase the intricate details of their skeletons. Garnet accents are from Africa and set in fine silver bezels with sterling silver components. ¾ “ W by 1” H

Pietersite Pendant & Citrine Accent. This rare gemstone is found in only one mine in Namibia Africa. It is a brecciated form of Tiger’s Eye. The stone displays optical sheen and movement when seen at different angles. I cut the stone to accentuate the unique sheen. Opalized Wood Ring.
I cut this hefty cushion shaped stone from a piece of petrified wood from Indonesia. This special stone is actually Opal that replaced the wood structure of an ancient log covered by volcanic ash. Look closely and you will see a small vein of raw copper that was deposited in the petrified wood grain. Size 7 set in a fine silver bezel with my signature textured sterling silver ring shank.

Obviously this material is very rare and contains hematite crystals which naturally oxidize to form the intense colors. Chrysocolla with Copper Pendant. I cut this large stone from a rare specimen of chrysocolla in quartz from Indonesia. It is rare because of the huge internal crystals of metallic copper that are deposited naturally into the stone. This one has a unique lighting bolt symbol like Happy Potter that runs vertically through the stone. Set with fine silver bezel and copper accents with hand textured and diamond textured imprints that create a sparkle. Includes 18”chain and clasp.

Peanut Obsidian Earrings with Citrine.
I cut this unique volcanic glass from a mine in Sonora, Mexico. Small crystals of perlite grew within the glass flow and crystalized what looks like tiny flowers. The white perlite later changed color due to iron oxides in the soil. Cut in a bookend style where both stones are mirror images of each other. The accent stones are fine examples of the best Madera Citrine from Brazil. Set in fine silver bezels with sterling silver ear wires.

Welo Opal Pendant and 22k Gold. I cut this very bright and gemmy opal from a parcel of Ethiopian opal. Has multi-flashes of all the colors of the sky with blue, green, orange, red and yellow. This opal is exceptionally large and gemmy throughout. Set in a 22K gold bezel with 22K gold accents. Base layer is textured sterling silver and comes with an 18 inch 14K gold filled chain.
Opals naturally contain 4-10% water. It is NOT recommended to shower, wash, or expose opals to long periods of water contact.
